North Carolina USA 2029 World University Games Opportunity Program

The North Carolina Bid Committee (NCBC) for the World University Games has developed a Volunteer Opportunity Program that enables you to accumulate Volunteer Opportunity Points (VOPs) towards priority selection as a volunteer for the 2029 World University Games. Those who achieve priority status will also have a preferred position for selection of their choice of volunteer position for the Games.

To participate in the program, you will first need to register with the program by clicking here to create an account.

Here is how the program works:

1

VOPs can only be accrued by working on events that are pre-approved by the NCBC as Qualifying Championship Events (QCEs) in any of the sports of the 2029 World University Games. (See sports of the Games on the Sports tab of the NC WUG Bid Committee website.)

2

VOPs are accrued at the rate of 1 point per each hour of work on a QCE.

3

Up to 25 points can be accrued per QCE.

4

A list of QCEs approved to date for accruing VOPs can be downloaded by clicking here.

5

Once an event you worked on has concluded, please fill out and submit the VOP Request Form found by clicking here. Please submit only one form per event worked.

6

You will receive an email confirmation that your VOP Request Form has been received.

7

Once the Request Form has been reviewed and approved, you will receive another email from NCBC confirming your newly-added VOPs.

8

After accumulating your first 10 VOPs, you will be entitled to an official cloisonne lapel pin featuring the North Carolina WUG Bid logo

9

After your initial VOP Request Form has been submitted and approved, you will be able to access at any time a record of your VOPs, including total VOPs accumulated to date, by clicking here.

The Volunteer Opportunity Program is expected to be periodically refreshed and enhanced until the program concludes.
